10 Ways to Vent a Portable Air Conditioner
Don't have a window to vent your portable AC through? Don't panic, there's 10 other ways you could accomplish the venting. The air conditioner DOES need to be vented though, the hot air that gets exhausted should either go outside, into the attic, into the crawlspace, through the wall, or in the wall if you're dealing with an inner wall. In this video I go over the different options you have if you don't have a window you can use for your portable air conditioning. Here are the various products I mentioned in the video:
Universal Slide Door Kit:
amzn.to/3URX1wa
Foam Weather Stripping:
amzn.to/3QEgBtk
Cloth Window Kit:
amzn.to/45JDCRZ
Swing Window Kit:
amzn.to/3zoTXzh
Wall Mount With Plug:
amzn.to/3zixgNu
Dryer Vent Kit:
amzn.to/3VSR0zP
Magnetic Vent Coupling:
amzn.to/3xFsFUR
Vent Hood With Screen:
amzn.to/3VUabJE
Vent Hose Extension:
amzn.to/3xjMl0F
Vent Hose Sleeve:
amzn.to/3REGYjf
I suggested getting a unit that self-evaporates but please do your own research regarding what portable AC you should get. Look through the product descriptions for phrases like "self evaporating technology", "drain free design", "auto drain function", etc. If you need some examples, the units below are all drain-free:
Black and Decker:
amzn.to/4eAkdH1
SereneLife:
amzn.to/3xuLg5Z
Hisense:
amzn.to/3xuPieC
Humhold:
amzn.to/3L2aY4R
Dreo:

How good is a plug in phone thermal camera? In this video I test out the new Topdon TS001 thermal camera. I look for animals and rodents in the dark, leak spots on my air conditioners, and power outlets that are surprisingly warm even though the plugged in device is off. And if you are concerned about my hand, don't worry. No hands were harmed in the making of this video. The burner was hot but...

The #1 Reason Why A Furnace Has to be Replaced

Furnaces get replaced for many reasons but one reason among them all takes the lead by far! So I tested my 35/5 capacitor and the fan fan was 4.98 and the Herm was zero. So I ordered a new one and believe it or not I got the same readings. I installed it and again the air conditioner does not cool properly. Is it possible to buy a bad unit right out of the box? I have a fluke meter and again, the fan reading is right on the money on both of the capacitors old and new.

You should be getting a read around 35mfd. The new capacitor you got was probably bad right out of the box. Did you test it before you installed it?

Learned my lesson about a lot HVAC wise on UA-cam after what turned out to be the same issue. Called in one of the bigger vendors in town. He scratched his head and came back with a new control board, still the same. Came back a few days later with a gas valve but could not get the old one off and left again. Coldest winter in my ten years but I'm in the south and suffered a couple weeks with space heaters. Finally called the original installer, cleaned the sensor and had it running in five minutes. Started getting bills from the company that disappeared. Called the manager explained the situation. He agreed they failed me. I told him I'd pay what I knew the wholesale cost of the control board (not either service call) and would not blow him up on social media. He agreed. I know have spare capacitors for both the furnace and compressor unit and a spare flame sensor as well. I went so far as buying a cylinder of freon before they change over. If I never need it, it will probably be worth a premium to someone else with down the road.

Similar concept but I follow the timing and track of the sun. My thermostat is programmed to cool down the house to 70 very early morning when the sun doesn’t hit my unit yet. I let the temp in the house slowly rise to 80 during the day and only by late afternoon the unit will run again to maintain that. By that time it’s in the shade again since the sun is at the other side of the house by then. Unit is on south side, good location for winter when it functions as heatpump. For summer I had to be creative using the thermostat program.

Thank you bro ,for this video .my heat pump type air conditioner was not working .the fereon gas copper pipe was covered with ice ,and I had house full of guests, then i went on line ,read your 8 reasons of this trouble, .The first one worked out ."the filter was full of dust .here I will tell you something I tried to cheat ,as an experiment. I cleaned the old filter vey well out side of house .For me it was 90 % clean , but didnot worked for a week. .This ice accumulation was first time in 8 years. .I think evaporato was not wokin enough as the air was not sufficient to defrost . i usullay change filter within 2-3 months . I am in Toronto. After replacing a new filter I stoped the cooling system and run the fan only for two hours. All snow melted . Thanks God guests didn't compained much. Thanks 😃 😃

My Carrier AC contactor has no voltage between the lugs where the condenser fan wires (the ones that supply power to the fan motor) are connected. The capacitor is rusted on top but good. The lugs are on opposite sides of the contactor. Does it mean it is a bad contactor? The other lug connections do show 230 VAC. I do not know where the plunger is located on the contactor. Furnace fan works OK. What do you think?

Complains about people doing tests only do for 1/2 hour, then claims they are wrong, despite him doing zero tests himself, great content, 10/10. If the video, you said it would run less, but say it makes zero difference energy wise (except for variable speed units, which most don't have). How can it run more and use the same amount of energy? And there is a flaw in your surface area logic. Your house is insulated, so while there is much more area, it enters much more slowly, while your unit in the sun is directly effected by the sun. If your house exterior was 100% metal, with zero insulation, you would have a point.

The bathroom fan moves a much LOWER CFM vs the air blowing out of the AC, and the vent pipe on some fans are either 3 or 4". ALso, MOST AC dont need to use the drain line. The water is taken care of on the evaporator coil. Only time the drain is used when you use it as a dehumdifier.

Fortunately, my two AC condensers are on the east side of my house-I live on a tree covered lot; the house has trees (lots of yellow poplars and red maples) shielding quite a bit of sunlight on all but the north side (front) of my house.
